Well life as a Mum is fantastic, everything I could wish for and more. Everyone said that your life changes once you have a baby but I didn't expect it to change so much and neither did I expect to feel so much love for another person. Its really amazing. As the title suggests there are lots of tears from both myself and Martha but as time goes by they are becoming less from me, Hormones settling I think! Martha likes a lot of attention and is putting both Liam and I through some challenging times, especially with her feeding, she certainly likes her food- gets that from both parents I think!
Well I thought I would quickly post while Martha is asleep but it looks like she hasn't settled so am going to see what she wants- probably another feed!
Will be in touch soon and with some pictures.

A quick update!
Well that was hard work- being pregnant when i set this up and with my hormones everywhere I couldn't remember my user name and password to access this to update everyone. Well finally got here and now really need to go and give Martha a feed so this is going to be very quick. She is nearly two weeks old and the nights seem to be getting easier. Although when she is wanting to be fed for three hours at 10.00pm I probably wouldn't agree with my own comment! She slept solid for 5 hours last night which was great. I think she probably slept the same on Sat night but I was a bit distracted with Liam and his journey home from a wedding- I will let him explain! All for an extra hour drinking time!
So I did promise more details on birth which will come in time, when I have time! Will have to go now and feed and will post shortly hopefully with some more pictures and stuff on how we are doing.

Baby bennett is here!
Well as you can see baby Bennett has entered the world! Martha Eleanor Bennett was born on Tuesday 5th December at 11.48pm and she weighed 7lb 1oz. She is a little bundle of joy and for the moment is very contented. I hope she stays that way! I am going to post some more details of the delivery when I get a chance but for now here is a picture for you all to see and enjoy.

Tiny tiny worry! All ok now
So after a busy day being on my feet with my mum on tuesday and not having felt the baby move much inside, I had a restless nights sleep that night, again not feeling the baby move much. Got up at about 5.00 and after rubbing and prodding bump to get it to move, nothing happened so rang hospital and they asked us to go into triage (the first place to go - an assessment place in the maternity unit). We went down and explained the problem and initially the midwife had a listen with her little sonic aid and could here the heartbeat which she was happy with but wanted a proper trace on monitor just to check everything out. However due to being busy they didn't have a free monitor to put me on, so we just had to wait. In the meantime some sort of emergency was happening on another bed so they rushed her off to labour ward- couldn't see anything just could hear it going on. By the time the midwife had come back and found a monitor it was the end of her shift. An agency midwife then came on duty and put me on a monitor which traced babies heart and any uterine activity (this had quite a bit, nothing i could feel though so they said it was braxton hicks). The babies heart beat was averaging at 110 bpm and the midwife was concerned with it being low so she called the doctor. the doctor said he wanted a longer trace and was talking about inducing me if nothing changed. however I did feel some movements and babies heart went up a bit. Another person came on duty took me straight off monitors and said everything seemed fine and the business about being induced was uneccessary (thankfully!). However she did want me to go back today to day assessment unit to get checked out. I went this morning and babies heart rate was up and have been feeling a lot more kicks. The woman there said it was perfectly normal for the babies heart rate to go low being so close to due date anyway so she didn't see what all fuss was about yesterday. So much conflicting advice, don't get me wrong everyone has been lovely but its a shame that there is no consistency.
Anyway there is nothing wrong and baby has been moving well today - need it to get its head down now and have a think about putting in an appearance!!! Can't wait to meet the little fella be it a boy or a girl- very excited and really looking forward to it coming.

Hello!

Hi everyone I have decided to start writing a blog. It means everyone can keep up to date with whats going on in my life and especially the little babies life and its development. That is when it decides to put in an appearance. I have now only got 5 days till the due date and I am starting to get a little bit fed up with waiting but have resigned myself to the fact I could be here for another couple of weeks yet.
I am hoping wth being at home for a few months I will find some time to put up pictures of the little Bennett family and be able to keep in touch with everyone.
